Sam Frishman Brings Home Medals for Team Bonk at the Maccabi Games
Four days. Multiple formats. One standout performance.
Sam Frishman represented the Detroit chapter and Team Bonk at the Maccabi Games and delivered from start to finish. He didn’t just compete—he collected hardware, carried teammates, and even carried the Detroit flag into the opening ceremony.
Day 1: Bronze with an 84
Sam opened the competition strong, carding an 84 and walking away with the bronze medal. Solid ball-striking and steady nerves set the tone for the week.
Day 2: Silver with a 79
He followed it up with an even better round—79—and upgraded to silver. Two days, two medals. The Bonk gear stayed locked in as Sam kept climbing.
Day 3: Carrying the Scramble
In the two-person scramble, Sam teamed up with a 15-year-old partner and basically put the team on his back. They finished +3 with a 75. Leadership and consistency showed up when it mattered.
Later came a four-person nine-hole scramble. The group ripped the front nine at –4 (32) before play stopped due to timing after four straight days of golf. Still, the scorecard told the story: Sam was the engine.
Opening Ceremony Moment
Before any of the competition even started, Sam had the honor of carrying the Detroit flag into the opening ceremony—representing his city and Team Bonk on a big stage.
From individual medals to scramble heroics to ceremonial pride, Sam showed exactly what Team Bonk is about: showing up ready, competing hard, and looking sharp while doing it.
Huge congratulations to Sam Frishman. Proud of you, and proud to have you in the Bonk family.
