The U.S. Kids Golf World Championship is the world’s largest junior golf tournament. Each year, it welcomes hundreds of golfers ages 5-12 (with a separate World Teen Championship for ages 13-18) to the legendary championship courses in the Pinehurst area, widely known as the “Home of American Golf.”
This isn’t just any tournament—it’s a full celebration of junior golf featuring:
• A vibrant Parade of Nations, where young players march proudly representing over 50 countries and nearly all U.S. states.
• A Parent-Child Tournament.
• Trackman Demo Days and skills challenges.
• Three intense rounds of championship play on historic Pinehurst courses.
• A grand Closing Ceremony.
• The Van Horn Cup afterward, a best-ball showdown for top 12-year-olds on Pinehurst No. 4.
More than 1,400–1,600 players from around the globe typically compete, making it a true international showcase and a launching pad for golf’s next stars.

Main Championship (Ages 5-12): July 30 – August 1, 2026
Van Horn Cup: August 2, 2026
Related events like the Parent-Child Tournament occur around July 27. The World Teen Championship takes place slightly earlier (July 23-25, 2026).

3. What Does It Mean to Be Invited to Play in It?
Earning an invitation to the U.S. Kids World Championship represents one of the highest honors in junior golf. It signals that a young player has demonstrated consistent excellence throughout the season by competing in U.S. Kids Golf local tours, regionals, and other sanctioned events.
Players earn Priority Status (levels based on scores and finishes) that determines invitation timing. Top performers receive earlier invites, filling a highly competitive but merit-based field. It’s a reward for dedication, hard work, and skill.
For families and young athletes, an invitation means validation of their talent on the global stage, a chance to compete against the best peers from dozens of countries, lifelong memories, new friendships, and exposure that can open doors for future opportunities in golf. Many past participants have gone on to shine in high school, college, and professional ranks.
