Loyal BONK Golf customer Justin Shorb Gets the Call
At BONK Golf, we’re all about the real ones—the laid-back golfers who love the game for the pure fun of it, the DIY builders who turn dreams into fairways, and the loyal customers who rock our gear like it’s part of the family. Today, we’re shining the spotlight on one of our own: Justin Shorb.
Justin is the kind of guy you’d want in your foursome every weekend. Married to his wife Holly, this New Hampshire resident (with Wyoming roots) keeps things simple and authentic. He’s a family man who loves football, a 2019 Hellcat Challenger (900+ HP 👀) that can wake up the 
neighborhood (Hollys purple, Justin’s Red) , and—most importantly—golf. Not the country-club-prestige kind of golf. More of the, “Bogey is par” kind of golf - 😂 inside joke there with his buddies and now us.
When Justin isn’t tearing up the course or spending time with Holly and the family, you’ll find him in full DIY mode. This guy built a saltwater pool in his backyard with a waterfall, and it’s amazing!!! 
Among other things, he also built a golf hole. He turns ordinary spaces into something special with his own two hands. That passion is exactly what caught the eye of Jeremy “Spud” Forcum and the Spud Run Golf crew.
The Invitation That Made the Cut:
Every year, Spud Run Golf—America’s favorite backyard golf course down in Chillicothe, Ohio—hosts its legendary Subscribers Tournament (often called the Spud Run Classic by fans). Hundreds of applications pour in from golfers across the country and beyond who dream of playing the unique one-green, nine-tee-box layout that has become a true Field of Dreams for everyday players.
This year, Spud’s family carefully selected just 11 lucky participants. Justin was one of them.
How did he stand out? Simple. Justin sent in an email that showed exactly who he is. He shared the DIY golf hole and projects he’s built, laid out his love for the game, and made it clear he’s the real deal—a normal, laid-back guy who lives and breathes the same backyard-golf spirit that Spud Run celebrates. That authenticity won the day. Out of hundreds, he made the final 11.
The dates are locked in: September 10th–13th. Justin will head to Spud Run ready to compete, hang out, and soak up every second of the experience. He’s even already added Spud Run to 18Birdies so the rest of us can follow along.

As a loyal BONK customer, Justin will be representing the brand the way we love to see it—comfortable, functional, and full of personality. Also rocking a custom hat made especially for him with his mantra, “Bogey is par” (his golf coach is not happy about that) 😂.
